WisDOT Abuses Eminent Domain Process to “Grab” Private Property at “Unfairly Low” Prices. Citizens are Successfully “Fighting Back” with Lawsuits!
For the past several years, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has earned a reputation for abusing the eminent domain process to "grab" private property at "unfairly low" prices (i.e. this state agency is "cheating these property owners out of their land" after forcing unnecessary, fiscally-irresponsible and environmentally-damaging road expansion projects upon them).
However, citizens are "fighting back" with lawsuits against the WisDOT and winning! Attached immediately below are four news articles (in PDF format) from the Daily Reporter (3) and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (1) which provide some striking examples of this WisDOT abusive behavior and subsequent citizen successes.

If our recent federal lawsuit victory stopping the Highway 164 four-lane expansion is upheld on appeal, then the WisDOT will not be allowed to use eminent domain to "steal" property from homeowners, family farmers, churches, schools and small business owners along our two-lane roadway in Washington and Waukesha Counties.
Please support our grassroots efforts to protect our property rights, environment, and communities (which, at the same time, will save all of us many millions in tax dollars in the short-term and billions in the long-term).
